Meet the Team

Doctors

We aim to provide personally the highest quality of care possible given the resources available to us. We feel that easy access to care is very important. If you want an appointment just ring up and ask.

Dr Sally Aston

Tuesdays and Fridays

qualified from Bristol University medical school in 2006
I qualified as a doctor from the University of Bristol in 2006 and worked in Torbay, Gloucester and Taunton before moving back to the Bristol area. I have been a GP since 2011 and enjoy being a generalist. I also hold a Batchelor of Science degree in Physiology, a Diploma from the Faculty of Family Planning and a Diploma from the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. In my spare time I love to keep fit and get out into the countryside.

Dr Karen Houghton

Mondays and Wednesdays

graduated from Liverpool University and did my GP training in the West Midlands, New Zealand and Bristol
I have worked as a General Practitioner in Bristol for 30 years and enjoy the variety of clinical work afforded by family medicine. My particular interest is child health. Outside work I enjoy reading, the ‘great outdoors’, watching live music and comedy, and spending time with the adults my children have become. A sunny day on my bike with a friend and a tea stop with a view, is hard to beat.

Dr Priya Goswami

Alternate Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

graduated from Bristol University in 2008 and qualified as a GP in 2013
I moved to Bristol for university and I’ve never left because I love the city so much. I recently moved into the local area and have loved exploring Thornbury and surrounding areas with my toddler and husband. I also enjoy walking and music in my spare time.

Dr Connie Smith

Mondays and Thursdays

Graduated from Leeds medical school in 2004, and trained to be a GP in Yorkshire
I moved to Bristol in 2012 and have loved living here ever since. I Iove spending time in nature, on my allotment, and camping with my husband and 3 young children. I enjoy all aspects of clinical medicine but have an interest in women’s health, and in how our lifestyles affect our health and wellbeing.

Dr Nial Blake

Tuesdays and Fridays

BMBS, MRCPI, MRCGP
I qualified as a doctor in 2015 in Ireland. I relocated to train in general practice in Somerset in 2021 after a number of years of working in cardiology and general medicine. I sought a greater working relationship with my patients and value the holistic and collaborative care achieved in GP. In my spare time, I play guitar and piano. I also attempt to play over 35s football and enjoy outdoor pursuits given our fortunate location in the south west.

Dr Sophie Barrow

Friday Mornings

I have been a GP in the Gloucestershire region now since 2016 and even in your building quite a lot this year as a locum! I love looking after my patients and have a special keenness to ensure good end of life care. I live nearby in Coaley with my husband who is a pilot, two young daughters and a mad dog. Being mummy keeps me pretty busy outside work but can otherwise often be found in the local spa or a good book.
