Non-urgent advice: Yate Minor Injury Unit are open 8am – 8pm, 7 days a week including bank holidays.
X-Ray facilities are open:
8am – 7.30pm – Monday – Friday
9am – 5.30pm – Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.
8am – 7.30pm – Monday – Friday
9am – 5.30pm – Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.
The Yate Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) offers treatment for adults, children and young people for a wide range of minor injuries. If your injury has occurred within the last two weeks, you can drop in without an appointment, or you may be referred by your GP or other healthcare professional.
All patients are seen by an Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) or an Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP) who have wide experience of dealing with minor injuries.
The Yate Minor Injuries Unit has X-ray facilities on site see above for opening times.
MIU treats:
- Cuts & grazes
- Sprains & strains
- Arm, lower leg and foot injuries including broken bones
- Bites – human/animal/insect
- Minor burns & scalds
- Minor head injuries
- Broken noses/nosebleeds
- Minor eye problems such as scratches, foreign bodies in the eyes
- Minor ear problems
MIU does not treat:
- Chest pain
- Respiratory problems
- Abdominal pain
- Gynaecological problems
- Drug overdose
- Alcohol related problems
- Mental health problems,
- Minor illnesses such as a sore throat or temperature (please contact your GP)
- Wound redressing (please contact your GP)
